Most of Apple's newer computers are capable of using either symmetric or asymmetric 16Mb chips. However, the Color Classic II requires symmetric memory. This is only an issue when dealing with SIMMs which use 16Mb chips. SIMMs built with Symmetric chips are indicated by an "L" suffix on the part number.
The Color Classic II is only sold in Japan.
